It’s racing very quickly to that time of year, again. And this year, we’re trying something a wee bit different. A givealittle page specifically designed to cater to those of you who just want to rain down Xmas cheer on some really special and beautiful human beings.
Every year, for the last six years, we’ve done Xmas for an ever growing whanau of people in our Aunties community. This year, as with the last two years, it’s the women we walk alongside most closely, and their kids, and the whanau who are part of the Te Whanau Rangimarie O Mangere community. (They’re a family violence service provider, maori led, and they do extraordinary work).
All those people – around 150 families, about 300 or more kids – just need a break. They need love and nurturing, and to not worry that they won’t have enough resources to give their kids Xmas pressies, or food.
So I thank you, the Aunties board thank you, in advance for your generosity of spirit, and your compassion, and love for, the people we work with, day in and day out.
Let’s do this.
