Collection: Where to go for help

Refuge organisations are the mainstay of domestic violence assistance and education in NZ. It’s a very political field, dominated by two major providers, and most refuge organisations are affiliated to the IWRCNZ (Independent Women’s Refuge Collective NZ) – some are not. Regardless, all struggle with funding and I have always said: give your money to your local refuge organisations. If you want a comprehensive list of affiliated refuge organisations, that would be HERE

This is NOT  a comprehensive list, but it is a list of refuge organisations that I either have a personal relationship with or that I have talked to, and it works from North to South.

I have also listed organisations that I rate and that people have found more effective, or suitable at that moment in their lives,  than traditional routes. I have included crisis line numbers if you need help, and if you don’t, I have included donation links. Handy.
